Playing Darts
With darts, the place where you want to play doesnt matter, its actually the fun time it brings. You wont find yourself with nothing to do at home if youve got a dartboard.
Darts started way back. Stories tell us that the game started when bored soldiers would dart spears at round pieces of wood to kill time. This led to the game of darts. The official rules and scoring of the game was made known in the eighteenth century.
Darts is one of the games that are not fussy.
The game has simple requirements: darts and a dartboard. Today, high-tech dartboards are available. The most widespread dartboards are made of cork or sisal. Dartboards made of cork have the disadvantage of having a short life. Better accepted are boards made of sisal because it doesnt deteriorate quickly at all. Sisal, unlike cork, does not fall to pieces even if it is used continuously. Digital dartboards are now readily available, and come with automated scoreboards.
Different varieties of darts are available. A dart is composed of these parts: tip, barrel, shaft and flight. Dart tips can be soft or steel, depending on the user and the dartboard. Soft tips are usually used by new players and for electronic and cork dartboards. Expert players prefer steel tips. There are also different kinds of shafts. Natural shafts are no longer popular nowadays. Quills for flights are no longer in fashion today.
There are plenty of accessories for darts in our time. You may use a dart cabinet if you dont wish to hang your dartboard on your wall. Add-a-grams allow players to adjust the weight of their darts to fit them. A better game is observed when players have darts that weigh right for them. To protect your floorboards, invest in a dart mat. Having a rulebook on hand can be very helpful, too. If youre using a cork or sisal dartboard, then you must have a scoreboard.
