La Quinta Inn Manhattan: Discount Hotel
La Quinta Inn Manhattan located on West 32nd Street is a quality discount hotel with a good location and really when you’re looking for a Manhattan hotel the most important thing is the location (as long as it’s not too expensive!)
This hotel is quite close to Madison Square Garden (home of the NBA’s Knicks and the NHL’s Rangers and some great rock concerts), the Empire State Building, and the Manhattan Mall. It is also very close to a lot of wonderful restaurants, most notably all of the excellent Korean BBQ restaurants that are right next door! If you have not tasted Korean BBQ before then you get a true treat; it is delicious.
The closeness of this hotel to the Madison Square Garden arena makes it a cool place to stay at if you are in town to see a professional basketball or hockey game or a concert at this legendary arena. By having a hotel so close to MSG you won’t have to concern yourself about how many beers you have!
Times Square is just ten short blocks up (while you are in the city will learn that “short blocks” are streets while the “long blocks” are avenues in NYC.)
This hotel is also a short walk to public transportation so you can quite easily go just about anywhere in the city without spending a a ton of money on a taxi or getting blisters on your feet from walking all over! Obviously there’s no shortage of things to see and do in NYC so I will not even try to list them all here.
If you want to do plenty of tourist stuff then I would suggest reading this New York Pass Review to see if the New York Pass is something that would save you time and money during your time in NYC.
While it’s not a five star hotel, it does have all of the basic amenities that you will definitely want to have during your visit to New York including security, a private bathroom, and air conditioning along with some bonuses like cable television (but you really shouldn’t sitting around watching cable TV when you’re in the most thrilling city in the US.)
