Those who live in the UK and who love trains are very fortunate because there really isnt anywhere better to live. Much of the history of the train actually took part in Britain and it is one of the best places in the world to begin a fantastic train journey. And the fact that the rail network in the UK became connected to Europe means that those living here can actually have access to even further fantastic destinations. There has never been a better time to be a train spotter.
It is becoming much more affordable lately and we have now much better access to train tips. There are a host of many different tickets which can be bought allowing passengers to travel to all kinds of destinations. It is possible to find yourself on the way to Italy on a sleeper train within twenty four hours of getting on a train in Coventry in the UK. But you wouldnt even have to go that far if you didnt want to. France is a wonderful destination and here you will also find some fantastic train journeys.
Taking the train to Paris from Waterloo in London is a trip that everyone should do at least once in their lifetime. The trains that travel on this route are some of the best in the world. A beautiful piece of machinery that can make it from London to Paris in about three hours; this is faster than what it takes to get from London to many UK cities. It is possible for you to get to many other places within France or even to other destinations in Europe once you have arrived in Paris; all you have to do is hop on another high speed train. But when it comes to trains I have a preference for the slower trains myself. And thankfully there are plenty of trains in Europe which will suit my tastes as well.
Its great getting an English ferry (ferry angleterre) for a visit to the UK. Quite often though, people enjoy using the Channel Tunnel (tunnel sous la manche). Anybody interested in staying in England (sejour angleterre), these are the best ways to go.
