Get Your Wireless Security System Before Traveling On Away From The House
Thankful for my Home Security Cameras and Wireless Security Systems
Last month during our remodel the first hundred dollars I spent was on a pair of home security cameras. Our money was that of most young newlyweds – very limited – and my wife was unsure of my decision.
We stayed in our new house for four months when we got ready to do the very necessary renovations we had thought about when we got the place. The structure was very sound, and our property – two acres only ten minutes away from town – was exactly what we had been looking for. The house itself was out-of-date and not big enough – we knew this going in and we understood that it was going to be a big job.
To stretch funds we decided to personally do as much of the work as possible. Over the course of a full day we piled the garage with building materials, cabinets, counter tops, and the tools we had bought for our project. We had to buy a a band saw, two special hand saws, two drills, two ladders, and numerous hand tools and pieces of small equipment. That one-car garage – with a door that did not shut completely attached to a house with no burglar alarm – had almost two thousand dollars worth of tools in it. Once we had unloaded everything I immediately set about mounting my two wireless home security cameras. I decided on wireless for many reasons, especially the fact that there is no need to wire anything directly. Then if I decide I need to move the wireless cameras I am saved the hassle of rewiring.
I put one camera on the gable of the house pointing it down toward the garage door and front door. I mounted the second in the backyard aimed at the gate and door. Our system allows us to get on to the web and see our place sort of like wireless CCTV cameras, so we figured out that feature and called it a night.
The very next day my wife told her girlfriends at work our new wireless surveillance cameras. She logged on to show them the pictures and she could see in the background that the tool shed was hanging wide open. She called wondering if I had forgotten to shut it. I said no, just as she saw the garage door open and a man running out with a bunch of my new stuff. The police were able to catch the guy just a mile down the road. He had seen us unloading the building equipment and snuck in the next day to take our stuff. That little investment probably saved our whole project.
