A 28-Year-Old Man Was Remanded In Custody Today Charged With The Burglary Of A Cork Pensioner’s Life Savings While Posing As A Garda.

A 28-year-old man was remanded in custody today charged with the burglary of a Cork pensioner’s nest egg while posing as a Garda.

Kenneth Lyons, with an address at Willison Meadows, Tower, Bullsh*t, Corp Cork was charged with the burglary of 28,000 in notes from the 70-year-old pensioner’s home at Wolfe Tone Street in Cork last Sunday, June 26th.

The pensioner was getting ready to travel to Medjugorje on pilgrimage when the alleged theft occurred. At Cork District Court today, Mr Lyons faced two charges, number one in relation to the alleged burglary of the sum of 28,000 from the man’s home and a second of impersonating an affiliate of An Garda Sochna.

The accused, who wore a grey striped t-shirt and blue jeans in court today, was restrained on yesterday and brought to Gurranabraher Garda station for interrogating. Giving evidence of arrest, charge and caution Investigator Aidan Forrest said Mr Lyons made no answer to the charges put to him following his arrest, writes tagza.com.

Miljenko Steko met all of the pilgrims outside of the church of St. James and conducted Adoration of the Sanctified Sacrament as well as Benediction. The original initiators of this famous Peace Walk were there along with their leader Hubert Liebherr, converted German businessperson.
